Race Report submitted by Natalia Sokolowska on the Meet and Train Summer league finale
The Woman’s Meet and Train summer league finished up in Phoenix Park on 26th of May with a 4 mile race won by Susan McDonnell from Sportsworld. It was the longest course of the M&T series and many of us found it was quite difficulut to run a race only three days after the 3 miler in Lucan. And we all remember – it was HOT in Lucan. In Phoenix Park mother nature had definately more mercy on us. Also, it was much easier to run having such a great support from the large Sportsworld crowd who came along to cheer for us.
Team A showed particulary great form by taking 6 out of first ten positions. Louise Nolan was second, Miread O’Callaghan seventh and Catriona Higgins came tenth. Ciara Foster and Ann Higgins showed some impressive consistancy by finishing fourth and eighth respectively in each of the three races. J
But isn’t the Meet and Train Series about teamwork too? In this respect Sportsworld defiantely proved a complete success. We won both gold and silver division and Team C was second in bronze division. Well done, girls.
We are still waiting for information when and where the prizegiving event will take place as surely Sportsworld has lots to celebrate that day.
